The free mobile app is for artists and contributors; paid plans serve the operators running the workflow. # Solutions (For pages) ## Every release in one workspace. URL: https://vandall.com/for/labels Audience: For Labels Most labels run a release across storage, a catalog spreadsheet, a task board, a playlist tool, an e-sign service, and team chat: six systems with no shared truth. Vandall puts the files, the metadata, the approvals, the agreements, and the send on one project, so everyone works from the record that is actually correct. ### Features - **Catalog under one roof**: Every release becomes a project with audio, metadata, splits, and agreements together. Search by ISRC, contributor, label, or release window without opening 19 tabs. - **A folder for every artist you sign**: Put each act on your roster and it gets its own folder. Invite the artist, their producer and their manager into it, and they reach that artist and nothing else on the label. - **Artists upload, your team has it**: Artists and roster members work in the creator app. A new master arrives as a version on the same project ops and marketing already have open, not as a file link in the chat. - **Every track shares as a release package**: Cover art, audio, credits, and the rights line on one link. Send it for partner review, radio, PR, sync, internal approval, or as a fast demo. Recipients open it in a browser, no account needed. - **Send the link, see who saw it**: Comments come back on the release itself. A&R and ops read the actual reaction on the actual track, instead of forwarding a thread. - **Release-readiness scoring**: Each release gets a score across masters, artwork, metadata, EPK, splits, and agreements. The roster view shows what is missing before deadline week, not during it. - **Agreements e-sign with PDF**: Send split sheets and label agreements from the project itself. Signers confirm with a click. The signed PDF locks to the release and exports as CSV for finance. - **Roles for A&R, ops, marketing, legal**: A&R sees their pipeline. Ops sees release readiness. Marketing sees assets and dates. Legal sees the agreement trail. Four views, one project. - **CSV in, CSV out**: Bring the legacy catalog in as a CSV: onboarding maps your columns, runs a dry import, and you sign off before anything goes live. Export the catalog back out with the active sort and filters whenever finance or a partner asks. ### What people say > "Vandall should have existed ten years ago, it's exactly what labels need." > — Wemppa Koivumäki, ex-CEO Sony Music Finland > "Vandall has a strong chance of becoming the go-to platform for music professionals." > — Kimmo Valtanen, ex-CEO Universal Music Finland ### FAQ **What is a music collaboration platform for labels?** It is a shared workspace where a label and its artists manage the files, metadata, splits, agreements, tasks, release dates, and approvals for each release. Vandall keeps those records on one project so A&R, operations, marketing, legal, and contributors work from the same source instead of separate storage, spreadsheets, chat, and e-sign tools. **Can we import our existing catalog?** Yes. CSV import is a Business-plan capability set up with onboarding. We map your columns to Vandall fields, run a dry import, and you sign off before anything goes live. **Does Vandall submit releases to DSPs for us?** No. Vandall holds the master, the metadata, the artwork, the EPK, and the signed splits as one package. Your distributor still ships the release. **How do role-based permissions work?** Each project has roles for A&R, ops, marketing, legal, and contributors. A&R sees the signing pipeline, ops sees release readiness, marketing sees assets and dates, legal sees the agreement trail. Permissions change per project, not just per workspace. **What does the audit trail actually capture?** Every edit, upload, signature, and comment logs name, timestamp, and source on the project activity feed. Version history preserves every master and every split revision. The audit holds up when a contributor or a partner asks who changed what, when. **How does the A&R-to-ops handoff stay clean?** A&R works on the same project ops will inherit: demos, signing context, contributor notes, agreement drafts, and threaded comments stay attached. Handoff is a role change on the project, not a re-export to a new tool. **Can artists and external collaborators see the catalog?** No. Roles scope visibility per project. Contributors see only the releases they are on. Partners receive a per-link send, not catalog access. Anyone listening on a shared link does not need an account. ## Clean releases in. Fewer rejections out. URL: https://vandall.com/for/distributors Audience: For Distributors Vandall is the workspace where labels and artists assemble a release. By the time it reaches your ingestion queue, metadata is validated, splits are signed, and every change has an audit trail. We hand off. We do not replace you. ### Features - **Release-readiness scoring**: Every project shows a readiness score. Missing ISRC, blank credits, and art under spec get flagged before the package leaves the label. - **Structured metadata at the source**: ISRC, ISWC, IPI, contributor roles, and credits captured in typed fields, not a Sheets tab the assistant edits the night before delivery. - **Signed splits attached to every track**: Split sheets e-signed in the project and exported as PDF or CSV. Publisher and admin downstream get a paper trail, not a screenshot. - **Audit trail per upload**: Who replaced the master, when, and from which device. If a DSP flags a takedown, you can show the chain of custody in seconds. - **Read-only access for QC**: Invite a distributor QC contact as read-only on a release. They review the package without editing it and without holding a seat on the label plan. - **Bulk catalog import**: Onboard a back-catalog from CSV on the Business plan. Existing ISRCs, credits, and contributors map into structured projects. - **One link QC can answer on**: Hand a share link to your QC team. See who opened it, how far they listened, and which version they reviewed, without chasing email replies. - **Partner, not competitor**: Vandall does not deliver to DSPs. The release leaves our platform clean and reaches your pipeline. Your relationship with the label stays yours. ### FAQ **Do you replace our distributor?** No. Vandall is the collaboration and metadata layer the label or artist uses before delivery. The release leaves Vandall and reaches your existing pipeline. We do not deliver to DSPs and we do not own the artist relationship. Your business does not change. **How do labels send a release package to us?** A label invites a distributor contact as a read-only collaborator on the project, or shares a project link. Your QC team sees the master, the metadata, the signed splits, and the readiness score in one place. Nothing is emailed as an attachment. **What metadata is validated before hand-off?** ISRC and ISWC format, contributor IPIs, cover art at 3000x3000, language code, primary genre, explicit flag, and per-role credits. The release-readiness panel flags every gap inside the project so the label fixes it before the package ever hits your queue. **Can we onboard an existing back catalog?** Yes. CSV import is available on the Business plan. Existing ISRCs, contributors, credits, and splits map into structured projects so historical and new work share the same shape in your pipeline. **Do you generate pre-save links or schedule DSP delivery?** No. Pre-save and DSP delivery sit with you. Vandall focuses on the upstream problem of clean metadata, signed splits, and audit trail, so the work that reaches your delivery tool is not the work breaking it. **How is the audit trail captured?** Every upload, metadata change, and signature is timestamped against the user, IP, and device. If a DSP flags a takedown or a contributor disputes a split six months later, the chain of custody is in the project, not in a Slack thread. ## Your catalog, ready to pitch. URL: https://vandall.com/for/publishers Audience: For Publishers Receive new tracks from writers and producers, find the right songs fast, and send pitch-ready packages with one link. The splits, the IPI numbers, and the ISWC stay attached to the work the whole way, so the pitch and the paperwork never disagree. ### Features - **Writers deliver into the catalog**: Writers and producers work in the creator app. A new demo arrives as a version on the work your team already has open, not as an attachment in somebody’s inbox. - **Find the right song fast**: Search every track, stack filters, and save the table views your team uses. Genre, key, BPM, and language sit on the metadata of every work. - **Pitch-ready packages on one link**: Cover, audio, credits, and the rights line on one page. The supervisor opens it in a browser. No account, no zip, no "who owns this?" reply email. - **See who actually played it**: Comments back on every pitch link, pinned to the second. Follow up on what somebody actually said, not on a delivery receipt. - **Splits with IPI and IPN**: Set the writer and co-publisher percentages on the metadata tab. Every contributor carries an IPI or IPN, captured once and reused across the catalog. - **ISWC tracked at the work**: Attach the ISWC the moment the society returns it. The work, the splits, and the registration all live on one record. - **Signed PDF locked to the work**: Each writer signs from a link. Once signed, the sheet is immutable. A change forces a fresh round of sign-off, and the old version stays in the audit history. - **Read-only access, clean exports**: Sync agents browse the catalog without editing a thing. The publishing admin gets a PDF that matches what was signed; accounting gets a CSV that matches what was registered. ### FAQ **Can a supervisor open a pitch without an account?** Yes. The pitch link opens in any browser. The supervisor plays the track, reads the credits, and sees the splits and ownership without an account, a password, or an install. You see the listen on your side. **Do you submit registrations to PROs and CMOs for us?** No. Vandall captures and locks the data your publishing admin needs (IPI, IPN, ISWC, splits, signed PDFs) and exports it as PDF or CSV. You submit through Songtrust, Sentric, Kobalt, or your direct PRO/CMO accounts. We track the registration status against the work so nothing slips through. **How do co-publishing and sub-publishing splits work?** On the same split sheet you set the writer share and the publisher share, then split the publisher share between co-publishers. Each party signs their own slice. Sub-publishers can hold territory-specific cuts on the metadata, with the original publisher controlling the master record. **Can sync agents browse the catalog without editing it?** Yes. Invite them with role-based read-only access at the catalog or project level. They stream the masters in-browser, see the splits, and see who controls what. They cannot upload, edit, or export. Pull access the day the deal ends. **Is the signed split sheet legally binding?** The signed PDF carries a full audit trail: who signed, when, from what IP, with what IPI. It holds up for publishing admin and dispute resolution. We are not a law firm, so for high-value catalog deals get a lawyer to review the template. **Can I import an existing catalog?** Yes. CSV import covers works, contributors, IPI, ISWC, splits, and registration status. Bring in your spreadsheet of record, then capture new works on Vandall going forward. See the migrate-from-sheets use case for the playbook. **Does Vandall handle MLC reconciliation or sync pitching?** Not directly. Vandall holds the data your reconciliation and pitching tools need (clean splits, ISWC, IPI, signed PDFs, audit trail) and shares it with the people doing that work. For sync pitching, point a sync supervisor at the catalog with read-only access; see /for/sync. ## Every artist. Every release. One pipeline. URL: https://vandall.com/for/management Audience: For Management Open the dashboard and see what each artist is shipping next, what is waiting on whose signature, and what hits distro this week. Replace the master spreadsheet with a roster that updates itself. ### Features - **Roster at a glance**: Every artist as a project line. Read pipeline status, next milestone, and last activity without opening anything. - **Access that follows the artist**: Each act on the roster owns a folder, and the people around it are invited into that folder. Nobody is granted access one track at a time, and nobody sees the acts they do not work on. - **Release-readiness scoring**: Each release shows a single score across audio, metadata, splits, and agreements. Spot the blocker before the deadline does. - **Sign-off across people you do not manage**: Route approvals to the artist, the producer, the label, and the lawyer. The thread shows who is holding the line. - **Agreements you can find six months later**: E-sign split sheets and side agreements in-project. Export PDF and CSV. Re-open the file by track, not by inbox search. - **Feedback on the record itself**: See which A&R actually played the track and for how long. Show the artist real engagement, not "I sent it on Tuesday." - **Audit trail per upload**: Every version, every comment, every signature stamped with who and when. No more "I thought we had agreed on V2." - **Role-based access**: The artist sees their own pipeline. The label sees the master. The lawyer sees the agreement. You see all of it. - **Same workspace on mobile**: Approve a master in a green room. Pull a split sheet at a meeting. The phone view is the same project, not a stripped-down read-only. ### FAQ **Can each artist see only their own projects?** Yes. Role-based access is per project. Artists open the workspace and see their own pipeline. You see every artist on the roster. **How do approvals work when the signer is not on my team?** Invite the producer, the label, or the lawyer to the project with the role they actually play. They sign in the project, the signature is recorded against the version, and the activity feed stamps who signed when. **Can I export agreements and metadata for our records?** Split sheets and side agreements export as PDF for the legal file and CSV for accounting. Track metadata exports in the formats distribution partners expect. **Does it work on mobile when I am on the road with an artist?** Yes. The project view, comments, approvals, and share-link sending all run from a phone browser. It is the same project, not a read-only viewer. **Can I show artists what came back on the tracks I pitch for them?** Vandall does not report plays or listening figures. What it keeps is the feedback itself: who said what, on which second of which track. That is more useful to read out on the next call than a number. **How is this different from running everything in spreadsheets and a shared drive?** The roster updates itself. Readiness reflects the actual files in the project, not a column you maintain by hand. Approvals live on the version, not in a chat thread you have to search. Six months later the agreement is one click away, not in the bottom of an inbox. ## Pitch the right track before the brief goes cold URL: https://vandall.com/for/sync Audience: For Sync Search by mood, tempo, key, and genre. Send a pitch package with cover, audio, lyrics, credits and rights on one link the supervisor can open without an account. ### Features - **Tag-rich metadata**: Mood, tempo, key, genre, instrumentation, and lyrical themes on the metadata tab. The fields a brief actually asks for. - **Catalog search that matches the brief**: Filter the catalog by any tag in seconds. Build a shortlist while the brief is still in your inbox. - **Pitch package, not a Dropbox folder**: Cover art, audio, lyrics, credits, and rights summary on one link. The supervisor sees a release page, not a zip file. - **No signup for the supervisor**: Recipients open the link and listen. No account, no password, no app install. The pitch loads in their browser. - **Feedback pinned to the second**: The supervisor comments on the bar they mean, without an account. A note at 1:12 beats a listen count you still have to interpret. - **Splits and rights at the moment of pitch**: Splits, master ownership, and publishing show up next to the audio. No "let me check who owns what" after the supervisor says yes. - **License terms e-sign in the project**: Capture the licensing terms in the agreements tab. E-sign once, export the PDF for the label and the CSV for accounting. - **Links that do not expire**: The pitch link works on day one and on day ninety. No 7-day countdown, no re-uploading because the supervisor was on holiday. ### FAQ **Can I share my catalog with music supervisors without making them sign up?** Yes. The pitch link opens in any browser. The supervisor listens, reads lyrics, and sees credits and rights without an account, password, or install. **Does Vandall tag tracks automatically?** No. You tag each track yourself: mood, tempo, key, genre, and instrumentation on the metadata tab. **Can I see whether the supervisor actually listened?** No. Vandall does not report opens, plays or how long anyone listened. None of that is built. What you get instead is their comment, pinned to the second of the track it is about, without them needing an account. **Do the pitch links expire?** No. The link works on day one and on day ninety. A supervisor returning months later opens the same URL. **How do splits and rights show up on the pitch?** Splits, master ownership, and publishing surface next to the audio on the pitch page. The supervisor sees who owns what without a follow-up email. **How do I capture the licensing deal once a supervisor says yes?** Use the agreements tab. Capture fee, term, territory, and media. Parties e-sign in the project, and you can export PDF and CSV any time. ## Send the beat. Lock the splits. Move on. URL: https://vandall.com/for/producers Audience: For Producers Drop a track, share a link that never expires, and document who wrote what before anyone forgets. The producer workflow in one place. ### Features - **Links that never expire**: Send a beat once. The link stays live forever. No more "can you resend?" three weeks later. - **Split sheets at the session**: Lock in producer, topliner, and feature splits while everyone is still in the room. Export PDF, attach to the project. - **Every revision saved**: V1, V2, V14_FINAL_FINAL. Compare side-by-side, restore any version, never lose a master. - **Lossless from drop to download**: WAV, AIFF, FLAC at original quality. Up to 10GB per upload. Your masters stay masters. - **Timestamped comments**: Artists tap the waveform to leave feedback at the exact second. No more "around 1:42 the snare is too loud." - **See who actually listened**: Comments come back pinned to the second, from people who never made an account. ### What people say > "Vandall is amazing. You can send 10 GB of data and the link doesn't expire." > — Mykah, Producer · Davido, Ozuna, Maleek Berry > "This is going to be very, very helpful for not just myself but for a lot of people." > — Matthew "Esco" Thompson, Producer / Songwriter · Sean Paul, Jennifer Lopez, Major Lazer ### FAQ **How big a file can I send?** Up to 10GB per upload, lossless. WAV, AIFF, FLAC, stems, sessions. Whatever you bounce, Vandall takes it. **Do the artists need an account to listen?** No. Anyone with the link can play in the browser. Account only needed if they want to download or comment. **Can I lock the link with a password?** Yes. Pre-release material can be password-protected. **How do split sheets work?** Add the contributors, drag percentages until they hit 100%, lock it in. Each signer confirms with a click. Export the signed PDF anytime. **Will Vandall re-encode my WAV?** No. Files stay at original sample rate and bit depth from upload to download. The recipient gets exactly what you bounced, with no MP3 fallback and no silent transcode. **Can I send a beat from my phone?** Yes. The mobile app sends, signs, and reviews from the same project as desktop. Push a bounce out of a hotel room without opening the laptop. ## Every bounce. Every revision. Credited. URL: https://vandall.com/for/engineers Audience: For Engineers Lossless delivery, version history that survives the project, and credits attached at the source. The engineer workflow that actually respects your work. ### Features - **Lossless, full stop**: WAV, AIFF, FLAC delivered at original sample rate and bit depth. No transcoding, no surprise compression in the pipeline. - **Every revision saved**: V1, V2, master_v3_LUFS-corrected. Compare side-by-side, restore any version, attach engineer notes per bounce. - **Credit at the source**: Mix and mastering credits captured on the project, not chased after release. Surfaces on the release page automatically. - **Timestamped notes**: Artists pin feedback to the waveform. You see "snare 1:42" instead of "around the second chorus." - **Sessions and stems welcome**: Pro Tools, Logic, Ableton sessions. Stems folders. Reference tracks. All previewable in-app, organized in nested folders. - **Links that don't die mid-project**: No 7-day countdown. The link the artist got on day one still works on the day of release. ### What people say > "Efficient, easy access that allows me to go between different bounce updates." > — Delroy "Pele" Hamilton, Bassist, Raging Fyah · Grammy-nominated · Busy Signal, J Boog > "You can have everything in one place, it's really good." > — Joshua Jones, Producer / Engineer · Chronixx, Stephen Marley ### FAQ **What sample rates and bit depths do you support?** Whatever you upload. We do not re-encode lossless audio. 44.1, 48, 88.2, 96, 192 kHz at 16, 24, or 32-bit float all pass through untouched. **Can I upload a full Pro Tools session?** Yes. Up to 10GB per upload on paid plans. Sessions, stems, and reference folders sit alongside the bounce in the project. **How do you handle revision history?** Every upload is a version. You can compare two versions side-by-side, restore an old one, or attach engineer notes per revision. **Do my credits show up on the release page?** Yes. Credits captured on the project surface automatically on the public release page when the artist publishes. **Does Vandall replace my DAW?** No. Vandall sits next to your DAW. You bounce in Pro Tools or Logic, then upload. Vandall handles the delivery, versioning, feedback, and paperwork around the session. The mixing stays in your DAW. **How do payment terms work for engineering work?** Agreements live in the project. Capture a flat fee, points on the back end, or both. The artist e-signs, and you can export PDF and CSV whenever accounting asks. ## Listen. Sign off. Move on to the next one. URL: https://vandall.com/for/a-and-r Audience: For A&R Every demo, every revision, every approval in one feed. No more inbox archaeology to find the right version of "the new single". ### Features - **Every artist, one feed**: Demos and revisions from your full roster surface in one place. Filter by artist, status, or release window. - **Approval chains that hold**: Define who signs off on what. Master, artwork, metadata, distribution. Every decision logged, no Slack archaeology. - **Release calendar**: See what ships when across the entire roster. Spot the bottlenecks before they become missed deadlines. - **Feedback at the timestamp**: Drop notes on the exact second you want changed. Artists see them in context, not in a separate doc. - **Metadata you can trust**: Credits, splits, ISRCs filled at the project. Distributor-ready by the time you sign off, not after. - **Feedback on the take, not on the inbox**: Per-recipient minutes listened. Know which playlist editor actually played the demo, not just opened the email. ### What people say > "Vandall has a strong chance of becoming the go-to platform for music professionals." > — Kimmo Valtanen, ex-CEO Universal Music Finland > "Vandall should have existed ten years ago, it's exactly what labels need." > — Wemppa Koivumäki, ex-CEO Sony Music Finland ### FAQ **How do approvals work for masters and artwork?** You define the chain: who reviews first, who signs off last. Status updates as each role approves. The audit trail is immutable. **Can artists upload directly to the same project?** Yes. Artists use the free mobile app, upload bounces straight to the project, and you see the new revision in real time. **Do you integrate with our distributor?** Vandall handles the collaboration and metadata layer up to delivery. We export distributor-ready packages and have an API for custom pipelines. **How is this different from a project management tool?** Asana and Monday are generic. Vandall is built around the music object: track, version, split, credit, release. Every field, every workflow is shaped for releases. **Can outside producers send demos in without a license?** Producers and writers use the free mobile app to upload bounces and sign splits. You only license the A&R seats inside the label. **Does Vandall score demo quality automatically?** No. A&R is a human call. Vandall keeps the demo, the splits and the feedback on one record so you can triage faster, but the taste decision is yours. ## Send the beat. See who played it. Lock the split. URL: https://vandall.com/for/beatmakers Audience: For Beatmakers Drop a beat, send a link that plays in the browser and never expires, and see who actually listened. When it turns into a song, the split sheet is one tab away. ### Features - **Links that never expire**: Send a beat once. The link stays live forever. No more "can you resend?" three weeks later. - **See who actually listened**: Artists comment on the bar they mean, straight from the link. No account, no app. - **Lossless beats and trackouts**: WAV, AIFF, FLAC at original quality. Up to 10GB per upload, so full trackout folders go in one send. - **Splits before it becomes a song**: When an artist takes the beat, lock producer and writer percentages and get it signed before release. - **Plays in any browser**: Artists press play on the link without an account, on phone or desktop. No app to install to hear it. - **Password-protect exclusives**: Lock an unreleased beat or an exclusive with a password so it only reaches the right artist. ### What people say > "This is going to be very, very helpful for not just myself but for a lot of people." > — Matthew "Esco" Thompson, Producer / Songwriter · Sean Paul, Jennifer Lopez, Major Lazer > "Vandall is amazing. You can send 10 GB of data and the link doesn't expire." > — Mykah, Producer · Davido, Ozuna, Maleek Berry ### FAQ **How big a beat or trackout can I send?** Up to 10GB per upload, lossless. WAV, AIFF, FLAC, stems, full trackout folders. Whatever you bounce, Vandall takes it. **Do artists need an account to hear the beat?** No. Anyone with the link can play in the browser. An account is only needed if they want to download or comment. **Can I see who listened to my beat?** Not as a play count. Vandall does not report opens or plays. What comes back is their comment, pinned to the moment of the beat it is about, on mobile and desktop. **How do splits work when a beat becomes a song?** Open Agreements, add the contributors, drag percentages until they hit 100%, and send signing links. Each signer confirms with a click, and you export the signed PDF anytime. **Can I lock an exclusive with a password?** Yes. Unreleased beats and exclusives can be password-protected. ## Write the song. Settle the splits. Get paid. URL: https://vandall.com/for/songwriters Audience: For Songwriters Share the demo, lock who wrote what while everyone is still in the room, and keep the signed sheet that routes your royalties when the song earns. ### Features - **Splits at the session**: Lock writer and topline percentages while everyone is still in the room. Export a signed PDF, attach it to the song. - **Everyone signs from their phone**: Each co-writer confirms their share in seconds, with an audit trail that captures IPI, IP, device, and time. - **Every demo in one place**: Voice memos, work tapes, full demos. Lossless, up to 10GB, with a link that never expires. - **Timestamped feedback**: Co-writers tap the waveform to flag the exact line or section, instead of "around the second verse". - **Every revision saved**: The hook you cut on Tuesday is still there. Compare versions and restore any one with a click. - **Credits and IDs on the song**: Keep contributors, roles, and codes on the same project as the audio, ready for registration. ### FAQ **How do split sheets work?** Add the co-writers, drag percentages until they hit 100%, and lock it in. Each signer confirms with a click from their phone. Export the signed PDF or CSV anytime, with a full audit trail. **Do co-writers need an account to sign or listen?** No. Anyone with the link can play the demo in the browser, and signers confirm their share without creating a Vandall account. **Can I leave feedback on a specific line?** Yes. Comments are timestamped to the second on the waveform, so a note about the pre-chorus lands on the pre-chorus. **Does Vandall register my songs with a PRO?** No. Vandall keeps your splits, credits, and codes in one place and exports clean data, but you still register with your PRO or publisher. The guides below walk through how. **Are old versions kept?** Yes. Every upload is saved as a version with date and uploader, so the hook you cut is still there to compare or restore. ## One place for the whole band. URL: https://vandall.com/for/bands Audience: For Bands Demos, rehearsal recordings, and feedback everyone can reach, plus member splits signed before the release. Stop losing the latest mix in a group chat. ### Features - **One shared workspace**: Every member reaches the same project, the same files, and the same latest version. No "which mix is final?" - **The latest version, always**: Drop a new bounce on top of the old one. Everyone sees it, and any earlier version is one click to restore. - **Feedback on the waveform**: Bandmates tap the exact second to flag a part, instead of "the bit before the bridge sounds off". - **Member splits, signed**: Agree who gets what across the band, lock it at 100%, and have everyone sign before release. - **Lossless demos and stems**: WAV, AIFF, FLAC at original quality. Up to 10GB per upload, so rehearsal multitracks fit. - **Links that never expire**: Send a mix to a manager or label that plays in the browser, with no account and no expiry. ### FAQ **Can the whole band use one workspace?** Yes. A band project is shared, so every member reaches the same files and the same latest version instead of re-sending mixes to each other. **Does everyone need an account?** Anyone with a link can play a mix in the browser without an account. Members who want to upload, comment, or sign splits create a free account. **How do we split things across the band?** Open Agreements, add every member, set the percentages until they hit 100%, and send signing links. Each member confirms with a click, and you export the signed PDF anytime. **What if we want an old mix back?** Every upload is saved as a version with date and uploader, so you can compare takes and restore any earlier mix with one click. **Can we send a mix to a label or manager?** Yes. Share a link that plays in the browser, never expires, and can be password-protected for unreleased material. ## Deliver the mix. Track the revisions. Look the part. URL: https://vandall.com/for/studios Audience: For Studios Send clients a link that plays in the browser and never expires, keep every revision on one project, and get notes pinned to the second instead of in a long email. ### Features - **Professional delivery**: Clients press play on a clean link in the browser, no account, no download, no expired link a month later. - **Lossless mixes and masters**: WAV, AIFF, FLAC at original quality. Up to 10GB per upload, so full sessions and stems go in one send. - **Revisions on one project**: Rev 1, Rev 2, approved. Every version kept with date and uploader, side by side, restorable in a click. - **Notes on the waveform**: Clients tap the exact second to flag a change, so "more vocal at 1:42" lands at 1:42, not in a vague email. - **See when the client opened it**: The client comments on the revision itself, so approval and notes land in one place. - **Password-protect unreleased work**: Lock a pre-release mix with a password so it only reaches the client it is meant for. ### What people say > "You can have everything in one place, it's really good." > — Joshua Jones, Producer / Engineer · Chronixx, Stephen Marley > "Efficient, easy access that allows me to go between different bounce updates." > — Delroy "Pele" Hamilton, Bassist, Raging Fyah · Grammy-nominated · Busy Signal, J Boog ### FAQ **How big a session can I deliver?** Up to 10GB per upload, lossless. WAV, AIFF, FLAC, stems, full sessions. Files stay at original sample rate and bit depth from upload to download. **Do clients need an account to hear the mix?** No. Anyone with the link can play in the browser. An account is only needed if they want to download or leave comments. **How are revisions handled?** Drop a new revision on the project and the client always has the latest. Every version is kept with date and uploader, so you can compare or restore any one in a click. **Can I see if the client opened the latest revision?** Not as a play count. Vandall does not report opens or plays. What you get is their comment on the mix, pinned to the second, which tells you they heard it and what they thought. **Can I lock pre-release work with a password?** Yes. Pre-release client mixes can be password-protected. ## Teach the workflow the industry actually runs. URL: https://vandall.com/for/education Audience: For Education Students run their coursework like real releases: versions, timestamped critique, signed split sheets, and clean metadata, in the same tool they will use after graduation. ### Features - **Real projects, not toy exercises**: Each student track is a project holding the audio, every revision, the credits, and the conversation, the same way a working release does. - **Critique pinned to the second**: Instructors and classmates tap the waveform to leave a note at the exact bar, so "fix the pre-chorus" points at the actual pre-chorus. - **Split sheets as coursework**: Students draft a real split sheet on their co-writes, balance it to 100%, and sign from a phone. They learn the paperwork by doing it. - **Every draft kept**: Each upload is saved as a version with date and uploader, so a student can show the arc from first demo to final mix. - **Share without accounts**: Guest reviewers and visiting professionals open a link that plays in the browser. No signup, no expired link a month later. - **Metadata as a habit**: Contributors, roles, and codes live on the song from day one, so keeping registration-ready data becomes a habit students pick up by working. ### FAQ **Do students have to pay?** Vandall starts free. Students create projects, upload work, comment, and sign split sheets on the free tier. See /pricing for what the paid plans add. **Do guest reviewers need accounts?** No. Anyone with a share link can play the track in the browser and leave timestamped comments without creating a Vandall account. **Does the students’ work stay theirs?** Yes. Projects live on the student’s own account, so the portfolio they build in class leaves with them. Customer audio is never used to train AI models. **How do split sheets work in a class setting?** A student adds their co-writers to the song, drags percentages until they total 100%, and sends signing links. Each co-writer confirms from a phone, and the signed PDF attaches to the project. **What file formats can students hand in?** WAV, AIFF, FLAC, and MP3, up to 10GB per upload, kept at original sample rate and bit depth. Stems and full session bounces go in one send. ## Forty songs in three days. Every split signed. URL: https://vandall.com/for/songwriting-camps Audience: For Songwriting Camps Give each room a project the moment the song starts, keep every work tape in one place, and lock who wrote what before anyone drives home. ### Features - **A project per song**: Create a project from a phone the moment a song exists. The work tape, the writers, and the conversation live on it from minute one. - **Splits before checkout**: Add every writer in the room, drag percentages to 100%, and lock it while everyone still remembers who brought the hook. - **Sign from a phone, no account**: Each writer confirms their share in seconds from a signing link, with an audit trail that captures IPI, IP, device, and time. - **Every work tape kept**: Voice memos, rough bounces, end-of-day demos. Lossless, up to 10GB, with links that still work when the cut comes next year. - **Notes on the exact bar**: Writers in another room tap the waveform to flag the exact line, so feedback between sessions points at the right moment. - **Pitch it and see who listened**: After camp, send publishers and artists a link that plays in the browser and brings their notes back on the song. ### FAQ **What do writers need to install at camp?** One person per room needs the Vandall app, free to start, to create the project and upload. Co-writers sign their splits from a link on their phones without creating an account. **How long does the split sheet take per song?** Minutes. Add the writers, drag percentages until they hit 100%, send signing links. Each writer confirms with one click from their phone. **What happens when a camp song gets cut a year later?** The signed sheet is already on the song, with the audit trail and the demo it was written on. Export the PDF or CSV and hand the publisher clean data instead of reconstructing the room from memory. **Can the camp organizer see everything?** Add the organizer as a collaborator on each song’s project and they see the files, the writers, and the signing status. One list for the whole camp. **Are big files a problem?** No. Uploads go to 10GB per file, lossless: WAV, AIFF, FLAC, stems, and full session bounces, kept at original quality. # Use cases ## Send a track. Keep the quality. Keep the link. URL: https://vandall.com/use-cases/file-sharing Audience: File Sharing Drop a WAV, get a link your collaborators can play in the browser. No 7-day countdown, no stripped-down MP3, no second free account to log into. ### Features - **Lossless by default**: Upload a 24-bit WAV and your collaborator hears the 24-bit WAV. No transcoding, no MP3 conversion behind your back. - **10GB per upload**: Send full stem packs and session bounces in one go. Vandall takes WAV, AIFF, FLAC, MP3, stems and mixes. - **Links that never expire**: Share a track today, the link still works next year. No 7-day countdowns, no broken Slack threads. - **No signup for recipients**: Send the link to anyone. They click, they play, they comment. They never have to make an account. - **Timestamped comments**: Recipients drop feedback at the exact moment in the track. No more "around 1:42, I think". - **See who listened**: Know when the A&R opened your link, how far they got, and whether they came back. - **Password protection**: Set a password on any link. Useful for unreleased material going to a label or sync agent. - **Update without breaking the link**: Upload a new mix and the same link plays the new version. Old versions stay accessible underneath. ### FAQ **What is the file size limit?** Up to 10GB per upload. That covers full stem packs, session bounces, and 24-bit WAVs of long-form material in a single drop. **Do my links expire?** No. Vandall share links do not expire on a 7-day timer. The link works the day you send it, next month, and next year, until you remove the file yourself. **Is the audio actually lossless?** Yes. Upload a 24-bit WAV, AIFF, or FLAC and the recipient hears the same file. We do not transcode to MP3 behind your back. **Does the recipient need to sign up?** No. Anyone with the link can play the track and leave timestamped comments without creating a Vandall account. **Can I password-protect a link?** Yes. Add a password to any share link in one click. Useful when you are sending unreleased material to a label, a sync agent, or anyone outside your trusted circle. **Will my unreleased music be used to train AI?** No. Customer audio uploaded to Vandall is never used to train AI models. Your unreleased masters stay your unreleased masters. ## Make a record together. From three time zones. URL: https://vandall.com/use-cases/collaboration Audience: Collaboration Drop a mix, the artist comments at 1:42, the A&R approves the master, the label sees it sign off. Every conversation pinned to the version it belongs to. ### Features - **Timestamped comments**: Click 1:42 on the waveform, leave a note. The producer opens it and the playhead starts on the exact bar. - **Threaded discussion**: Replies stay attached to the comment they answer. No more guessing which note "yes" was meant for. - **Approval chains**: Define who signs off on each version. Track status from rough mix to delivered master in one view. - **Role-based access**: Artist, producer, A&R, manager, label: each role sees the files and tabs that match the work they do. - **Per-project workspace**: Files, comments, approvals, and metadata live inside the project. No scattered email threads or shared drives. - **Activity feed**: See every upload, comment, and approval as it happens. Catch up on a release without asking anyone. - **Version-aware feedback**: Comments stay pinned to V1 when V2 arrives. Old conversations stay readable, new ones start clean. - **Mobile, same project**: Approve a master from a phone in transit. Same project, same comments, same playhead position. ### FAQ **Do my collaborators have to sign up to leave feedback?** For full project access (approvals, roles, activity feed), collaborators sign up so their actions are attributed. For one-off review of a single track you can also send a share link and the recipient comments without an account. **Does it work on mobile?** Yes. The project view, timestamped comments, and approvals all run on mobile browsers. An A&R can listen and approve a master from a phone on the move. **How do roles and permissions work?** Each collaborator gets a role: artist, producer, A&R, manager, or label. The role decides which tabs and files they see by default. The project owner can change a role at any time and access updates on the next refresh. **What happens to old comments when a new version is uploaded?** Comments stay pinned to the version they were left on. When V2 arrives, V1 comments stay readable on V1. Conversations on V2 start clean, so feedback never bleeds across mixes. **Do you integrate with the tools we already use?** Email digests and calendar reminders for release deadlines are in. The aim is for collaboration to live inside the project rather than scatter across half a dozen apps. **How do you handle collaborators across time zones?** Every comment, upload, and approval is timestamped on a chronological activity feed. The next person on shift opens the project and reads the diff since they last looked, without a sync call. ## Analytics are not here yet. URL: https://vandall.com/use-cases/analytics Audience: Coming soon Vandall does not measure opens, plays or listening time, and there is no analytics screen. What a link gives you today is the reply: comments pinned to the second of the track they are about, from someone who never has to make an account. ## V14_FINAL_FINAL is no longer a filename URL: https://vandall.com/use-cases/version-control Audience: Version Control Vandall saves every upload as a version automatically. Compare side-by-side, restore an old one, attach notes per revision. No more emergency Slack threads at 11pm. ### Features - **Every upload is a version**: Drop a new bounce, Vandall keeps the old one. No file naming gymnastics, no overwrites, no silent loss. - **Compare side-by-side**: Play two versions at once, see the waveform diff, A/B without leaving the project. - **Restore in one click**: Decide V8 was actually the keeper. Restore it as the current version. The old current becomes V13. - **Notes per revision**: Tag each version with what changed. "EQ pass on vocals", "client wants more low end". Searchable later. - **Lossless preserved**: Versions stored at original quality. The V1 you uploaded six months ago is still 24-bit WAV. - **Audit trail**: Who uploaded what, when. If a version went missing, you can see exactly when it happened. ### FAQ **How many versions do you keep?** All plans keep unlimited version history. The only limit is the storage available on your Vandall account. We do not delete versions silently. **Does version history work on mobile?** Yes. The mobile app shows the same version stack. You can restore from your phone, compare from desktop. **What happens if I delete a project?** Versions live with the project. If a project is deleted by accident, contact support and we will help you restore it. **Can I export a specific version?** Yes. Every version is a downloadable file. The link to a specific version is a permalink. ## Settle the splits before the session ends. URL: https://vandall.com/use-cases/split-sheets Audience: Split Sheets Add the contributors, set the percentages, send the signing links. Each writer confirms with a click. The signed sheet attaches to the project alongside the master. ### Features - **Build it in the room**: Add contributors, set percentages, send the link. Faster than typing out a paragraph in an email. - **Locked at 100%**: The total has to balance to 100 before the sheet sends. No math errors at 2am, no quiet rounding bugs. - **E-sign with audit trail**: Each contributor confirms with a click. Timestamps, IP, IPI captured on every signature. - **PDF and CSV export**: Export the signed sheet anytime. PDF for the publishing admin, CSV for your own books. - **Attached to the project**: The signed sheet lives inside the project, not in someone’s inbox. Travels with the music for the life of the catalog. - **Sits next to the metadata**: ISRC, IPI, and credits live one tab over on the same project. Registration day takes minutes, not an afternoon. ### What people say > "This is going to be very, very helpful for not just myself but for a lot of people." > — Matthew "Esco" Thompson, Producer / Songwriter · Sean Paul, Jennifer Lopez, Major Lazer ### FAQ **Do collaborators need a Vandall account to sign?** No. They open the signing link in a browser, see the splits, confirm with a click. The signature captures their name, IPI, timestamp, IP, and device whether they have an account or not. They can create a free account if they want their splits in one place. **Can a contributor sign from a phone?** Yes. The signing flow is identical on mobile. The same audit trail of timestamp, IP, IPI, and device is captured, so a writer on tour can clear the splits from a hotel lobby. **Is the PDF legally binding?** The signed PDF carries a full audit trail: who signed, when, from what IP, with what IPI. It holds up for publishing admin and dispute resolution. We are not a law firm, so for high-value catalog deals, get a lawyer to review. **Can a split sheet be edited after it locks?** Once locked, the document is immutable. To change it, create a new version. Every signer re-confirms, and the old version stays in the audit trail so the dispute history is intact. **What format does the export come in?** PDF and CSV. The PDF is the signed document everyone confirmed and is ready for publishing admin. The CSV is the same data in rows for your own bookkeeping or to import into a spreadsheet. **Is this only for songwriting splits?** No. The same flow runs for producer splits, master royalties, and feature agreements. Define the parties, define the percentages, send the link. ## Your spreadsheet is a liability. URL: https://vandall.com/use-cases/migrate-from-sheets Audience: Migrate Import your CSV on day one. Map columns to structured fields. Lock splits as signed PDFs attached to the project. Move your roster off Sheets, Excel, Notion, or Airtable in an afternoon. ### Features - **CSV import on day one**: Bring your existing catalog as a CSV. Map columns to Vandall fields, hit import, and every release becomes a project with audio, metadata, and rights in one place. - **Structured fields, not freeform**: ISRC, IPI, splits, dates. Validated on entry, searchable across the catalog. No more typo-ridden columns or "is that a 0 or an O" tickets. - **Splits that survive**: Sheets get edited. Vandall splits sign as PDFs, lock to the project, and stay immutable. The agreement tab is the agreement, not a row someone might change next quarter. - **Per-project access**: Drop the "do not edit this tab" notes. A&R sees A&R. Artists see their own projects. The label sees everything. Roles replace tab-level guardrails. - **Audit trail by default**: See who changed what, when, and from where. Sheet edits go anonymous after the fact. Every Vandall change is logged on the project activity feed. - **A label in an afternoon**: Onboarding maps your existing schema to ours, runs a dry import, and you sign off before anything goes live. ### What people say > "Vandall should have existed ten years ago, it's exactly what labels need." > — Wemppa Koivumäki, ex-CEO Sony Music Finland ### FAQ **What CSV format do you accept?** Any UTF-8 CSV with a header row. Onboarding maps your columns to Vandall fields. Track title, ISRC, UPC, release date, primary artist, contributors, and split percentages are the common ones. If your schema is non-standard, we map it once and re-run. **How long does migration actually take?** A catalog of 50 to 100 releases typically moves in an afternoon. The longest part is reviewing the dry import. **What do you do with personal data in the CSV?** Names and emails for contributors get matched to existing Vandall accounts or held for invite. We do not share the data, and customer audio is never used to train AI models. PII handling follows GDPR. Request deletion at any time. **Do I have to give up my old tools?** No. Vandall is the source of truth for music: audio, metadata, splits, agreements, comments. Keep Sheets, Notion, or Airtable for finance or planning if your team still wants them. Export to CSV anytime. **What about the splits we already have in a tab?** Import them as initial values, then send each contributor a confirmation link. Once they sign, the row turns into an immutable signed split sheet locked to the project. **Who needs an account?** Anyone who edits or signs needs one: A&R, managers, label staff, contributors signing splits. Artists who only listen and leave timestamped comments on shared links do not need to sign up. ## One package. Everything the release needs. URL: https://vandall.com/use-cases/release-packages Audience: Release Packages Masters, artwork, metadata, credits, and the signed agreements, bundled from the project, checked for gaps, published as a locked snapshot, and handed over as one link. ### Features - **Everything in one deliverable**: The package pulls the audio masters, artwork, metadata, credits, and signed agreements straight from the project. Nothing gets re-collected by email. - **Gaps flagged before publish**: The Release Package tab shows a checklist of what goes out. Missing items are flagged with a warning so you fix them before the partner sees them. - **A snapshot that stays put**: Publishing locks the package. Later edits to the project do not change the published version, so what the distributor received stays what they received. - **Hand over one link**: Send the share link and the recipient gets read-only access to every asset: masters, artwork, metadata, and signed agreement PDFs. - **The whole thing as one ZIP**: Partners who want files get the full package as a single download instead of a folder reassembled from attachments. - **Republish when things change**: Need to change a published package? Republish and send the new link. The old one keeps working for historical reference. ### FAQ **What exactly goes into a release package?** Audio masters, artwork, metadata, credits, and the signed agreements on the project. The Release Package tab shows the full checklist before you publish, and flags anything missing. **Can I edit a package after publishing?** No, and that is the point. A published package is a stable snapshot, so the version your distributor received never changes underneath them. To amend, republish and send the new link; the old one keeps working for historical reference. **What does the recipient need?** Just the link. It opens in the browser with read-only access to every asset. Partners who want local files can download the full package as one ZIP. **How do the signed splits get in?** Agreements are signed on the project itself: each contributor confirms from a link, and the sheet locks as a PDF. The package includes those signed PDFs automatically. **When should I publish?** When the release is distribution-ready. Publishing locks the snapshot, so it is the finish line of the project, not a draft you circulate for comments. ## The catalog is an asset. Run it like one. URL: https://vandall.com/use-cases/catalog-management Audience: Catalog Management Every release holds its audio, metadata, and signed rights in one record. Filter the whole catalog on any column, save the views your team reuses, and export to CSV when finance still wants a sheet. ### Features - **One record per release**: Audio, artwork, metadata, splits, and agreements live on the same project, not in three tools that disagree about the same song. - **Smart filters on any column**: Stack filters on any column, add date ranges and cover-art or audio checks, and the table shows exactly the slice you asked for. - **Saved views your team reuses**: Choose the columns that matter, save the view, and send someone the link. They see the same cut of the catalog you do. - **CSV export in one click**: Send the full catalog to a CSV that runs in the background and follows your active sort and filters. What you see is what you export. - **Find anything fast**: Search the catalog by ISRC, contributor, or release window, or type part of a track’s name and pick it from results as you type. - **Structured, validated metadata**: ISRC, dates, and contributors are validated on entry, so typos and bad codes are caught in the catalog, not by the distributor. - **A release calendar built in**: Every project with a release date shows up on a monthly calendar. Spot stacked weeks, find open windows, and reschedule inline. - **CSV import for the back-catalog**: A four-step wizard maps your columns to Vandall fields, previews every row, and turns unknown columns into custom metadata fields. ### What people say > "Vandall has a strong chance of becoming the go-to platform for music professionals." > — Kimmo Valtanen, ex-CEO Universal Music Finland ### FAQ **How do the filters actually work?** Stack filters on any column of the catalog table, including date ranges and checks like "has cover art" or "has audio". Combine them with chosen columns, save the result as a view, and share it by link so a teammate sees the same slice. **What does the CSV export include?** The catalog as you see it: your active sort order and filters are applied to the export. It runs in the background and tells you when it is ready, so a large catalog never blocks you. **Can I keep fields Vandall does not have?** Yes. Unknown CSV columns become custom metadata fields on import, visible on every project’s Metadata tab. You can reorder or delete custom fields for the whole workspace from Settings. **How does the import handle messy data?** The preview step flags rows with validation errors: bad ISRC formats, missing required fields, unparseable dates. Edit cells inline or exclude rows, and test with five to ten rows before running the full catalog. **Does Vandall replace our spreadsheet entirely?** For the music, yes: audio, metadata, splits, and agreements live on the catalog. If finance or legal still wants a sheet, export a CSV snapshot anytime. The difference is that the sheet no longer has to be maintained by hand. **What about the audio itself?** Masters, instrumentals, and stems upload to the same record that holds the metadata and rights, lossless, with version history. The catalog describes the music and holds it too. ## Set up your roster once URL: https://vandall.com/use-cases/roster-management Audience: Roster Add the acts you work with to your roster. Each one gets its own folder, and you invite the artist, their producer and their manager straight into it. They reach that artist and nothing else on your label. ### Features - **An artist, not an account**: A roster member is the act as you know it, with a name, a short description and a photo. It exists whether or not anybody logs in for it, so a catalog-only artist works the same as a busy one. - **Every artist owns a folder**: Creating a roster member creates their folder. Their tracks live in it, and you open it from the row of faces above your catalog. - **Invite their people**: Attach the artist, their producers and their manager, then invite them by email. One roster member can carry as many people as the act actually has. - **Their artist, nothing else**: An invited person reaches the folder tree you granted them. Other artists on your roster, and the rest of the workspace, stay out of view. - **They work, you see it**: Artists and producers use the Vandall app. What they upload into the artist folder appears on your dashboard without anyone sending a file. - **Import brings the roster**: Import a catalog from CSV and Vandall reads the artist names in the file, offers to add them to your roster, and files each track into the matching artist folder. ### What people say > "Vandall has a strong chance of becoming the go-to platform for music professionals." > — Kimmo Valtanen, ex-CEO Universal Music Finland ### FAQ **Is a roster member the same as a user account?** No. A roster member is the act itself, the way your label refers to it. People are attached underneath it, and there can be none at all. That means you can put an artist on the roster and host their catalogue without ever inviting a person, then add people later if the working relationship changes. **Can an artist see the rest of my roster?** No. Somebody invited under a roster member reaches that artist folder tree and nothing else in your workspace. Other artists, and the rest of your catalogue, are not visible to them. **What do the artists and producers use?** The Vandall app, free for them to start. They see the label workspaces they belong to in their own track list, open the artist folder they were invited to, and move tracks into it. What they put there is on your dashboard straight away. **I already have a catalogue in a spreadsheet. Does it build the roster?** Yes, on import. When you import a CSV catalogue, Vandall reads the artist names in the file and offers to add them as roster members, and the tracks file into the matching artist folders. If you already organised your workspace into a folder per artist, give the roster member the same name as the folder: Vandall spots the match and offers to use that folder for the artist rather than making a second one, so the tracks already in it stay with them. Converting a catalogue that was never filed that way is not automatic yet. **Somebody works for us, not just for one artist. What then?** Promote them. Inviting a person who already holds a roster place into the workspace itself turns their place into a full membership, and the artist work they were already doing stays with them. # Comparisons ## Vandall vs WeTransfer URL: https://vandall.com/compare/wetransfer WeTransfer sends a file. Vandall sends the release. Links never expire, recipients listen in the browser, comments are timestamped on the waveform. Splits, credits, and metadata travel with the audio instead of being lost in zip files. ## Vandall vs Dropbox URL: https://vandall.com/compare/dropbox Dropbox is great storage. Music needs the workflow on top of the file. Vandall adds timestamped feedback, split sheets, structured metadata and release packages — none of which Dropbox does. ## Vandall vs Google Drive URL: https://vandall.com/compare/google-drive Drive treats every file the same. A mix is not a memo. Vandall preserves lossless audio, organizes around the project (not the folder), and ships the metadata distributors actually need. # Blog (recent posts) - [Roster Members Are Live: A Folder Per Artist, and the Right People In It](https://vandall.com/blog/roster-members-are-live) — Labels can now define their roster in Vandall Business.
