Agreement Signing Didn't Complete

Why an agreement sits stuck in Pending and how to unblock signatures.

3 min·5 steps·Updated 2026-04-20

In short

  • Partial signatures ("2/3 signed") block the agreement.
  • Name-only participants must sign offline.
  • Missing IPI on a signer can block their signature.
  1. 1

    Check the signature count

Open the Agreements tab on the project. The status shows progress like "2/3 signed." An agreement moves to Signed only when every listed participant has signed. One missing signature blocks the whole thing.

  2. 2

    Check for name-only participants

Participants added by name only (no email, no Vandall account) are listed on the PDF but can't sign inside Vandall. Their signatures must be collected separately — on paper or via e-sign — and the agreement PDF amended outside the app.

  3. 3

Ask signers to refresh the Agreement tab

If a signer says they signed but the count hasn't updated, ask them to re-open the Agreement tab in the App. The status refreshes on re-entry and surfaces any validation issue that blocked their signature.

  4. 4

Check that their IPI is present if required

If the agreement requires IPI and a signer's profile doesn't have one set, their signature may be blocked. Ask them to add it in Settings > Accreditations before retrying.

  5. 5

    When to start over

If a participant's details are wrong (wrong name, wrong split percentage), don't patch around it — cancel the agreement and restart the wizard. Split sheets that don't match the PRO database cause dispute holds later.
