I Need to Delete a Workspace or Project

How deletion works, what it affects, and when to archive instead.

3 min·5 steps·Updated 2026-04-20

In short

  • Deletion is irreversible — download signed PDFs first.
  • Removing a collaborator is usually what you want, not deletion.
  • Workspace deletion is Owner-only and wipes everything.
  1. 1

Delete a project from the project list

Open the project's three-dot menu and choose Delete. Deletion removes the project, its files, comments, credits, and agreements for everyone on the project. It's irreversible, so confirm with your team before deleting.

  2. 2

Consider whether you really need to delete

If the goal is to clean up the project list, moving the project to a folder (App) or relying on the Releases calendar (dashboard) keeps it discoverable without deletion. Deleted projects take signed agreements with them — that's usually not what you want.

  3. 3

Remove a collaborator instead of deleting

If you're trying to cut someone's access, remove them from Members or from the Users page rather than deleting the project. Their access revokes immediately while the project stays intact for everyone else.

  4. 4

    Deleting a workspace

Workspace deletion is Owner-only and removes everything — projects, files, members, agreements — for the entire organization. This is rare; contact support rather than deleting self-service so you have a confirmation trail.

  5. 5

    What to save first

Before any deletion, download signed agreement PDFs and any files you want to keep. Vandall does not keep archived copies of deleted projects, and PRO-registered agreements referenced on streaming platforms are best preserved off-platform regardless.

Tips

  • Renaming or archiving is almost always a better answer than deleting. Deletion is for test projects and genuine mistakes, not cleanup.
