My Share Link Shows 404 or "Not Available"
Why a share link breaks and what to check before generating a new one.
In short
- Revoked links cannot be reactivated — generate a new one.
- Deleted files break their share links.
- Truncated copy is a common cause — use Copy from the dialog.
- 1
Check if the link was revoked
Revoking a share link breaks it for everyone. If you or a teammate revoked it, the public page shows a "not available" state. Generate a new link from the file — revoked links cannot be reactivated.
- 2
Check if the file was deleted
Share links are tied to a specific file. If the file was deleted from the project, the link shows 404. Restore the file if possible, or re-upload and generate a fresh link.
- 3
Confirm the full URL copied
If the recipient received a truncated link (common when pasted mid-line into Slack or Messages), the last characters can get lost. Share by clicking Copy in the share dialog rather than selecting text manually.

Try the link in an incognito window
If the link works for you in incognito but the recipient sees 404, a stale cache or an outdated link is the cause. Send them the fresh Copy output and ask them to hard-refresh.
