My Share Link Shows 404 or "Not Available"
Find out why a share link stopped working, and what to check before you make a new one.

- A link someone stopped sharing can't be switched back on. Make a new one.

Check if the link was revoked
Ask whether you or a teammate clicked Stop sharing on the file. That closes the link for everyone, and the page shows as not available. A stopped link can't be switched back on. Open the file's share panel again to get a new link and send that instead.

Check if the file was deleted
Check that the file is still on the track. A share link belongs to one file, so if the file was deleted, the link shows 404. Upload the file again and make a new link.

Confirm the full URL copied
Ask the recipient to check the end of the link. When a link is pasted mid-line into Slack or Messages, the last characters can get cut off. Click Copy next to the link in the share panel instead of selecting the text by hand.

Try the link in an incognito window
Open the link in a private or incognito window. If it works there but the recipient still sees 404, they have an old link or an old copy of the page. Copy the link again, send it to them, and ask them to reload the page.
