Use Vandall on your phone
By the end you’ll know how Vandall on your phone differs from the desktop, and which jobs are quickest to do on the go.
Before you start
- A Vandall account. You sign in on your phone the same way as on the web, with the same account.

Install it and sign in
Download Vandall from the App Store or Google Play, then sign in with the account you already use. Everything you have on desktop is there, because it’s the same account.

Learn the three tabs
Use the bar along the bottom of the screen. It has three icons: the Vandall mark on the left for Tracks, a + in the middle for New Track, and a bell on the right for Notifications. The + doesn’t open a page. It opens the sheet for creating a track. There are no other tabs.

Find Settings, which is not a tab
Tap your name at the top left, or the gear icon at the top right. Settings opens full screen and the tab bar disappears, so it can feel like you’ve left the app. Press Go back to return to your tracks.

Expect the player to follow you
Start playing a track, then leave it. The player stays docked at the very bottom of the screen, just below the tab bar, with pause, loop and ×. Tap its artwork to go back to what’s playing. Press × or sign out to stop it. Closing the track doesn’t.

Know what the phone cannot do
To add files on a phone, press Upload and choose them in the picker. You can’t drag and drop. Vandall also needs a connection: there’s no offline mode, so download anything you need before a flight.

Phone versus desktop
- Navigation
- A phone has three tabs at the bottom. A desktop wider than 1280px shows your track list next to the open track. Same product, different layout.
- Getting files in
- Press Upload and use your device’s file picker. Drag and drop only works on the web.
- Renaming
- An in-app dialog on iOS and Android. On the web, a plain browser box opens instead.
- Playback
- Keeps playing as you move around the app, in a bar docked at the bottom. Press × on that bar, or sign out, to stop it.
- Offline
- Not supported. Nothing is saved for offline use and nothing syncs later, so anything you do without a signal won’t go through.
- Settings
- Opens full screen from your name or the gear icon at the top, not from a tab. The tab bar hides while you’re in it.
Ways people use this
The studio job the phone does best
Getting a rough bounce to someone before you leave the room. Upload it from your phone and share the link while your computer is still busy running the session. Save anything that needs a lot of typing for a keyboard.
Listening to comments on the way home
Open the track and tap a time badge to hear the moment someone commented on. The player keeps going when you switch tracks, so you can get through a week of feedback on a train journey without opening a laptop.
Going somewhere without signal
Don’t rely on the app. There’s no offline copy and nothing syncs later, so download anything you need before you board.
Tips
- The + in the middle of the tab bar creates a track. Looking for something you saw on desktop? Open the track. It’s inside, not in the tab bar.
